Virginia Ann (Steele) Sheldon passed away peacefully on December 20, 2017 at her home in El Sobrante while surrounded by her loving family. Born in Frederic, Wisconsin on April 3, 1943 to the late Harvey and Lucille Steele, Virginia is mourned by a large extended family. She leaves three daughters, Karla (Raul) Lopez, Nicole (Robert) Boyd, and Allison Beavers, and two step-children, Michael Sheldon and Michelle Sheldon. Also, two sisters, Karla Steele and Kerry Haggett, 14 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her beloved husband, Mike Sheldon, and her older brother, Steven Steele. Virginia was a graduate of Richmond Union High School and lived in the Bay Area most of her life. For over 40 years she worked in a variety of administrative positions for local trucking companies and leaves many treasured co-workers and friends. She was a long-standing member of the local Teamsters Union. As the much-loved matriarch of her broad extended family, Virginia will long be cherished for her generosity, thoughtfulness, and compassion. Her abilities as a wonderful cook and hostess will be missed, as we all remember celebrating numerous holidays, parties and special events at her beautiful home. Her legacy to all of us includes her strong ethic of hard work, selflessness, and love of family.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, January 16, at 10:30 at Hope Lutheran Church.
